WALCOTT, IA…. “Going to the Walcott Truckers Jamboree and they’re gonna get married!” Longtime couple Kim Grimm and John Jaikes not only attended the recent Walcott Truckers Jamboree, held at the Iowa 80 Truckstop in Walcott, IA, but they also polished and shined their tractor and trailer to perfection and entered in the truck show. Oh – and they also got hitched!

The new Mr. and Mrs. Jaikes were married on July 9th the Credit Island Lodge in Davenport, Iowa along the mighty Mississippi River.

Kim explained, “Dennis Mitchell performed a true Trucker Service with seriousness and added enough laughter to make everyone there have fun.  We can’t thank him and Barb Mitchell enough for helping to make our wedding perfect.”

We all know that members of the trucking industry have big hearts and helping hands and the Jaikes were blessed with many friends helping to clean their truck for the show as well as making sure the nuptials went off without a hitch.  John and Kim wanted to thank you Birgitta, Carl, Norma, Lisa, Aaron and Stephanie Murphy; Tammy and Alan Stein; Desiree Hedegus and her daughter Madison, who shared her 13th birthday with the newlyweds; Dierdre Wogaman; Danny Vela and Shelby Miller; Wendy Wilfong; Dave Foster; Carmen Anderson and the awesome chauffeur Jacob Murray.

Wedding guests raved about how much fun they had.  And as Kim aptly remarked about her new husband, “Only John could pull off purple hair [a wig] and suit and make people laugh!”

Congratulations John and Kim!  Here’s to many years (and miles) of happiness as you embark upon married life.
