Teachers Receive School Grants From Trucker Buddy And Trimble

July 2020

Trucker Buddy International and Trimble are pleased to announce that 22 classes have each been granted $500 for school supplies and equipment needs as part of the School Supply Grant Program. Started in the fall of 2014, the program offers teachers the opportunity to complete an application to qualify for grant consideration. Schools were evaluated based on funding needs, as well as the level of creativity in how applicants would use the funds.

Open to current Trucker Buddies and their Trucker Buddy classes, some teachers use the grant application for class projects, enabling students to be involved in the process. This became not only a request for funds but also a learning experience for the students.

“Trimble is proud to continue its support the Trucker Buddy scholarship program,” said Bryan Coyne, executive vice president of Visibility, Partners and Integrations for Trimble’s Transportation division. “These grants will go toward helping students further their education and learn more about the importance of the transportation industry.”

Alan Welborn, executive director of Trucker Buddy, is very pleased with Trimble’s support.  “Trucker Buddy, with the funding from Trimble, is thrilled to offer these grants to these deserving schools. Many teachers and drivers donate not only their time but also their own funds to help their classrooms, so this is a great opportunity to help their community,” said Welborn.
