July 2026

OOIDA Professional Truck Driver Marty Ellis hauled The Wall That Heals to Brookings, South Dakoka on June 9th.  Marty Ellis is a veteran and drove the display from Reynolds, Indiana to its final destination at the Fishback Soccer Complex.

The Wall That Heals is operated by the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund and travels to several cities throughout the USA. The Wall is a three-quarter-scale replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, DC.

The Wall was at the Fishback Soccer Complex on June 11-14 and was  open 24 hours a day.  It was free for all ages to visit.

A Welcome Home Ceremony was held on Thursday morning and at sunset on Friday, June 12, a special  Light the Night ceremony was held,  focusing on awareness of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), supporting veterans and others impacted by trauma. Dring the Light the Night Ceremony, the wall was lighted in teal,  the color associated with PTSD awareness.
