Big G Announces New Weekly Minimum Pay Program

April 2021

Shelbyville, TN… Big G Express, a 100% employee-owned truckload carrier headquartered in Shelbyville, Tenn., recently announced a new weekly minimum pay program for its new and current drivers.

Beginning February 1, 2021, the new $1,000 per week minimum pay program launched to help its drivers add more stability to their finances.

“One of our goals is to take some of the stress out of our drivers’ week due to the unknowns like time getting loaded/empty or countless other unexpected things that can happen day to day in the trucking industry,” said Chris Kelley, VP of Operations with Big G. “We want to take care of those drivers that have done everything they need to do but for some reason may have just had a bad week due to some of those unknowns.”

The weekly minimum pay program is just one of the many ways Big G enables its drivers to have high earning potential. They also offer practical mileage route pay with a generous starting base pay-per-mile, an automatic half-cent per mile raise every six months, per diem option, and several bonus opportunities such as monthly mileage bonus, fuel and performance bonus (bi-annual), safety bonus (annual) and referral bonus.

A key advantage at Big G is the company’s employee stock ownership program which contributes into retirement accounts for employees based on years of service and compensation. The company’s stock value has increased every year since the ESOP was formed in 2009 and continues to show strong growth and success.
