44th Annual Shell Rotella SuperRigs® To Be Held At The Bristol Motor Speedway

BRISTOL, TN… Julie Wright, Shell Rotella Brand Manager was at the Shell Rotella booth at the recent Mid-America Trucking Show in Louisville, Kentucky and announced that the 2026 Shell Rotella SuperRigs® Competition will be held at the Bristol Motor Speedway in Bristol, Tennessee on June 25-27.  Over $25,000 in prizes will be awarded at this year’s event.  There will be 12 categories and 4 judges.

The event will feature a Light Show, Fireworks, and expanded activities for the whole family.  And of course 12 lucky participants will be chosen to be photographed for the 2027 Shell Rotella SuperRigs® calendar! Julie also said that there were some surprises coming as well.

Karin Haumann, Shell OEM Technical Service Manager was also on hand to give us an update on the new Proposed Category 12 (PC-12) oils that will be coming.  The API specs have been voted in and finalized as of January 1st of this year and the 1 year mandatory waiting period has begun. The licensing will begin on January 1, 2027, and product will appear sometime after.  Karin said that Shell is  developing their PC-12 oils and will be ready to meet all deadlines.

The PC-12 oils have been developed at the request of engine manufacturers to aid in meeting new emission and fuel economy standards.  The PC-12 oils will offer additional thermal stability and better acid treatment benefitting DPFs.
