ALBANY, NY…More than 1,000 children, parents and other members of the community attended the Touch-a-Truck Event at Wilton Mall on Saturday, May 19, 2018, getting up close to more than 25 large commercial and emergency vehicles while also raising more than $3,100 for Veterans Miracle Center of Albany http://www.vmcalbany.org/.

The Trucking Association of New York (TANY) and Bestpass organized the event, and more than 15 companies provided vehicles and equipment for the family fundraiser. On Tuesday, June 19, 2018, TANY and Bestpass presented Veterans Miracle Center of Albany with a check for $3,184.44. The funds will help 12 local veterans settle into fully furnished homes this summer.

“The trucking industry is a proud community partner throughout New York and we are grateful to our members and the members of our community for participating in these great events,” said Trucking Association of New York President Kendra Hems.

“The Touch-a-Truck events are an excellent way to give the public access to the large vehicles that keep our country moving,” said Bestpass President and CEO John Andrews. “We’re so pleased with the public’s response and are honored to help give back to local veterans that have given so much for our community.”

TANY and Bestpass has/will be hosting two more Touch-a-Truck events this year including:

•October 13, 2018 – 9 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. – Destiny USA – Syracuse, NY
