We are Professional Truck Drivers who have been looking for a tool to help with our cell phone signal and data strength while driving through the lower 48 states of the United States. We were approached at a trade show to test the weBoost Drive Sleek OTR Booster Kit (model #470235) and then write a review of the product. Below are the results of our test.
First, we were very impressed with the packaging of the product both inside and out. The size and weight of the box were very manageable. After opening the box, we were even more impressed. Everything that was needed to install the weBoost was included. Every piece was labeled very clearly in a step by step manner. Total installation time was about 2 hours due to placing the antenna on the roof of the truck. If the antenna would have been mounted on the mirror, the installation time could have been much less.
Second, we have been extremely impressed with the performance of the weBoost. Before installing the product, we would drive under bridges or cross state borders and experience the dreaded dropped call. Since installation, we have only experienced one dropped call in nearly 6 months of use. We were in the depths of a mountain range at the time of the lost call. Also, we live in a rather remote area where cell phone and data service are limited at best.
Since we began using the weBoost, our cell phone and data service has improved so much that we are actually considering purchasing a weBoost model for home!
Finally, as with any product, there are always things that could be better. In our case, the only negative we found was that since installing the weBoost it seems as if there are times the phone does not ring when a call comes in. All of a sudden, we see that we had a missed call. We are not sure if this is a technical issue between the phone and the weBoost itself or just operator error. Regardless, we are still wondering what took us so long to get the weBoost. There are definitely many more positives. We encourage everyone who is looking for a way to get a better cell phone or data signal while on the road to consider the weBoost Drive Sleek OTR Booster Kit.
