Ronnie Filer is Smith Transport’s  2024 Driver of the Year for the OTR Division

Ronnie began his driving career with Smith Transport in 1990 and has consistently demonstrated excellence behind the wheel. A true professional, he was named Driver of the Year in 2017 and continues to set the standard for safety and service.

Ronnie is a proud member of the Tommy Smith Golden Eagle Three Million Miler Club, having achieved an incredible milestone with zero accidents and zero service failures throughout his career.

He was personally hired by Tommy Smith in 1998 and began his journey in a cabover tractor affectionately known as “The Batmobile.” Today, he commands the road in a Peterbilt 389 — a fitting evolution for a driver of his caliber.

Ronnie's commitment, professionalism, and spotless record make him more than deserving of this recognition.
