PITTSBURGH, PA…. Jacob A. Haser founded Haser Trucking in 1919 by purchasing a horse, 2 wagons and boarding for the horses for a couple of months for $250.00 and began delivering coal and ice in the Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania area.  Jacob would often extend credit to his Depression Era customers to give them a helping hand.  Jacob and his wife Claire had 7 children, the youngest, Edward J. Haser joined the family business, leaving only to serve in the Navy.  When Edward returned from the Navy, the company had diversified to haul rails, lumber, switching gears for the railroad, dirt for the sanitary authority, and also slag and cinder for local home builders.  The company also developed a contract with the Duquesne Light Company, hauling ash from their power plants.

Under Jacob J. Haser’s leadership, the company transitioned from a dump truck operation to flatbed and winch truck trailer service, serving Pittsburgh’s flourishing steel mills.  Many new customers were added, including The American Bridge Company, US Steel, Westinghouse, and Fisher Scientific.

Jacob Haser purchased Reinsfelder Trucking in 1956 from his uncle to expand the company’s ICC Authority, the company then became Reinsfelder, Inc.

Edward J. Haser and his wife Jean had 3 sons and a daughter, all of whom joined the family business when they became of age.  Each of the 3 boys joined the Army and served during the Vietnam War:  Edward P., previous Reinsfelder President. was a team leader, helicopter mechanic; Paul was a forward observer; and Tom was a MP, escorting convoys up and down Highway 1.  When the brothers returned from Vietnam, Edward P. worked as a truck driver and rigger for the company; Paul became a Professional Truck Driver; and Tom became a Police Officer, retiring after 30 years of service.

Edward J. Haser retired in 1984 and sold the company to his son, Edward P., who filed for expanded authority shortly after the trucking industry deregulated and greatly expanded the company’s operational area.  Reinsfelder had been in the Pittsburgh suburb of Millvale since the early 1900’s.  They moved to Cranberry Township, Pennsylvania, 20 miles north of Pittsburgh in 2012.  The new location, off US Route 19 and I79 provides easier access for Reinsfelder trucks to the maintenance facilities and local highways.   Edward P. Haser retired in 2012, selling the company to his son Edward P. Haser, II.   “Eddie” is now the President and 4th generation of his family to own and operate Reinsfelder, Inc.  Eddie has many years of experience working at Reinsfelder, as well as adapting to and embracing the new technologies emerging in the trucking industry.

Today, the Reinsfelder fleet has grown to 100+ power units, 60 independent contractors, and 40 company drivers.  Reinsfelder primarily haul Sspecialized freight, operating flatbeds, stretch flats, stepdecks, double drops, and multi-axle heavy haul trailers from 11-19 axles.  Reinsfelder drivers can choose between flatbed work or heavy haul/oversize loads.  The company is hiring and leasing Professional Truck Drivers across the country, as well as looking for small fleets for lease or acquisition. Reinsfelder is also seeking freight agents with a verifiable book of business who are interested in joining the Reinsfelder team.

All Reinsfelder drivers earn top industry compensation, EZPass and PrePass, weekly settlements with direct deposit, and the flexibility to run local, regional, or OTR.  The company operates late model Kenworth and Peterbilt tractors spec’d with driver amenities and lots of chrome.  Contractors receive free PA and federal inspections, fuel discounts, and a plate program.
