Iowa 80 Truckstop Celebrated 60th Anniversary with Huge Cake from ‘Ace of Cakes’ Bakery, Charm City Cakes
WALCOTT, IA … The World’s Largest Truckstop at hosted a big party in honor of Iowa 80’s 60th Anniversary during the Walcott Truckers Jamboree on July 12th. Baltimore, Maryland based bakery, Charm City Cakes, created a replica of the Super Truck Showroom out of cake! “It truly was a one-of-a-kind cake. We’re excited to celebrate our 60th Anniversary with everyone.” Vice President of Marketing, Heather DeBaillie, says that the cake featured the beloved yellow bobtail “Cornpatch Cadillac” which is on display in the Super Truck Showroom, as well as an Iowa landscape and the iconic globe logo, complete with a red arrow.
“We were so excited to see the cake next to the actual Cornpatch Cadillac. It was so awesome!” Delia Moon Meier, Senior Vice President says.
The Iowa 80 Truckstop first opened their doors to the public on June 4, 1964. The facility featured a small restaurant, store, and two diesel pumps. Iowa 80 now spans 85 developed acres and features over 900 truck parking spaces, 10 restaurant options, a host of other driver amenities. We have proudly served America’s professional truck drivers and travelers for 60 years and look forward to what the next 60 years will bring. Iowa 80 has never closed its doors; operating continuously (24-7-365) since opening day in 1964.
