DUNCAN, SC… I recently had an interview with Greg Arscott, President of the Pete Store regarding Peterbilt and technology.

“Today’s technologies make it possible for Owner/Operators and small fleets to keep up with the big fleets,”  said Greg Arscott. “The technologies available in today’s Peterbilts enable truck owners to have a well-run, dependable fleet while achieving optimal fuel economy.  Of course you must have a fuel economy mindset that includes smart routing, using cruise control, keeping speeds around 65 mph, minimizing idle time, and keeping tires inflated properly.”

Arscott continued, “Owner/Operators and small fleets make up the bulk of our customers and our sales professionals are ready to help them identify the technologies that will be most useful to them.  Having the right navigation app can help reduce out of route miles and avoid traffic tangles.  All new Peterbilts have internet connectivity which allows for data informed diagnostic monitoring.  Problems are automatically detected and the fleet, driver, and dealership are notified. This allows for the parts to be ordered and the maintenance scheduled.  Bluetooth and Apple Car Play are also now available in Peterbilt trucks, along with a 14” screen for ease of use.  The Driver Assist feature provides a lane departure alarm and Intelligent Cruise Control brakes when the truck is too close to another vehicle.”

He added, “Peterbilt is still a custom built truck, offering a lot of technologies that are available to everyone.  If you are not using them, you are only hurting yourself.”

The Pete Store has 30 full service Peterbilt dealerships located on the East Coast.
