Working Show Truck of the Month – Rennie Jason
|
By Robert Conrad Another year has come and gone and 2010 is officially underway. Hopefully the economic turnaround that's been predicted will come and the trucking industry will begin to prosper as a result. The owner of this month's Working Show Truck has persevered by giving his customers quality service and on-time deliveries at a reasonable rate. Mike Tasha owns and operates Tasha Trucking and this showstopping 2006 Peterbilt 379 daycab is part of his fleet. The truck is driven daily by Rennie Jason who treats it like it was his own. Rennie is only 25 but has already been trucking for over five years. Trucking is definitely in his blood and Rennie is following in the footsteps of his father and his uncle who are also truck drivers. Rennie hauls all types of fuel oil for Tasha and, on occasion, will also haul landscaping materials with one of the companie's dump trailers. No matter what he's hauling, Rennie turns heads by keeping the truck looking its best. The truck's "sable effect" metallic paint is complimented by custom blue and gold leaf lettering and pinstripping which was done by Karen Souza at Cranberry Signcraft. There is no shortage of "bling" on this polished Pete thanks to a long list of custom touches. A 20" Valley Chrome bumper dresses up the front along with a 13.5" drop visor, Double J blinker bars, and a set of 7" Lincoln Exhaust straight pipes complete with Pickett elbows. The rear wheels are covered with a set of polished stainless Pro-tech double hump fenders. The truck's custom made product pump and deck plate were done by Lee harvey. Finally, the air horns have been removed from the roof and seven cab lights sit up high to help light the truck at night. The inside of the truck looks as sharp as the outside does thanks to the addition of an 18" steering wheel which is painted to match the truck, a 7" flip face dvd player, and a number of polished accents by Rockwood and United Pacific. There is plenty of power under the hood thanks to the C15 Acert CAT engine which pushes out 550 hp. An 18-speed transmission and a set of 46 rears round out the truck's powertrain. When Rennie isn't driving he enjoys representing the Tasha fleet at various local truck shows. The entire Tashsa fleet is well known in the New England area for its spotless appearance both at the shows and on the road. When asked for his most memorable experience thus far, Rennie mentioned several. He fondly remembers going to the Liddell factory in Alabama to pick up a new lowboy trailer as well as the many loads of mulch that he's hauled out of NH and ME. He said that he enjoys "messing" with his father and Uncle on the c.b. when he gets the chance and that running with them, on occasion, is always an adventure. Rennie said that he'd like to thank his Mom &Dad for all of their support, along with both of his grandfathers and uncles. He also mentioned a few friends(who know who they are) that have lent a helping hand along the way. Last, but certainly not least, he wanted to thank Mike Tasha and the entire Tasha family for putting him in such an outstanding truck that he takes a great deal of pride in driving every day. We salute Mike Tasha for his outstanding fleet, including this month's Peterbilt and also Rennie Jason for all of his hard work both driving and keeping the truck looking great at all times. Congratulations on being chosen as Movin' Out's Working Show Truck of the Month for January 2010.
