Smith Transport Drivers Receive Golden Eagle Award
ROARING SPRING, PA…. The Smith Transport staff inducted two drivers into the prestigious Golden Eagle Million Miler Club at a ceremony held on September 12th at the company’s corporate offices in Roaring Spring, Pennsylvania.
Professional Truck driver Steve Tinkey from Dairy, Pennsylvania was honored for 10 years and 1 Million Safe Miles at Smith Transport. Steve had no service failures and his Million Safe Miles is the equivalent of driving around the world 41 times without an accident.
Steve gets a new tractor of his choice, adorned with a Golden Eagle Million Mile emblem. Steve was recruited by Rob Miller in 2008 and his Driver Manager is Beth Lamoreau. Steve also received a bonus along with a special hat, certificate, jacket, watch and plaque.
Also inducted into the Golden Eagle Million Miler Club was Danny Mayberry from Allons, Tennessee. Danny has been a Professional Truck Driver since 1989 and has driven for Smith Transport since March of 2009. Danny was also recruited by Rob Miller and gives a lot of credit to his Driver Manager Marc Weldon. Marc could not attend the induction ceremony, but Mellissa Simon spoke for him, stating, “Danny has always been willing to go above and beyond for Smith Transport.”
Danny has driven 1,125,153 safe miles, which equates to 20,503 hours behind the wheel. Danny also received his choice of a tractor, a special logo for his truck, a bonus, a hat, a certificate, plaque, jacket and watch for his outstanding achievement.
Congratulations to both Steve and Danny, it is truly an honor to share the road with safe drivers such as themselves.
