Shell ROTELLA® DEF Diesel Exhaust Fluid Strengthens Shell Lubricants Product Portfolio

Houston, TX… Shell Lubricants has strengthened its portfolio of products with the addition of Shell ROTELLA® DEF diesel exhaust fluid. It is a high purity diesel exhaust fluid for use in most 2010 and later on-road diesel- powered trucks, cars and equipment with Tier 4 Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) equipped emissions systems requiring diesel exhaust fluid.

“Shell ROTELLA® DEF provides the operators of diesel-powered trucks and equipment with the hard working performance you expect from Shell Rotella products,” said Chris Guerrero, global heavy-duty diesel engine oil brand and marketing manager. “This expands the Shell ROTELLA® line of products that consumers know and trust, and it is a natural complement to our diesel engine oils.”

Meeting the stringent chemical requirements of ISO 22241 (AUS 32), Shell ROTELLA® DEF conforms to manufacturing standards and certification requirements for API Certified Diesel Exhaust Fluid. This high quality is required by equipment manufacturers to support the performance of their emission systems requiring diesel exhaust fluid.

Shell ROTELLA® DEF is available in 2.5 gallon (9.46 L) containers. This size provides the optimal level for top up of many smaller DEF tanks and “emergency” filling of larger DEF tanks. Diesel exhaust fluid is suitable for vehicles and equipment including:

•Heavy-duty trucks

•Diesel pickup trucks

•Diesel cars

•Construction and off-road equipment

•Stationary engines

The Shell ROTELLA® portfolio of oils has been developed by the makers of the No. 1 selling diesel engine oil to meet API CK-4 and FA-4 performance categories for diesel engine oil, which were first licensable by API on December 1, 2016. API CK-4 oils are designed with improved high temperature oxidation resistance, shear stability and aeration control compared to previous API categories.
