I read in the Bible of a young woman, a virgin, who is met by an angel and told she was to mother a child out of wedlock so far as earth is concerned.  The woman, of course, was the Virgin Mary.  The Holy Spirit would overshadow her and she would conceive and that which was born of her would be called the Son of God.

But what would a modern day girl say to such a challenge?  I know what Mary said.  It was, "be it done unto me according to thy word."  It sounds like what Jesus said in the Garden of Gethsemane.  He said, "Not my will, but Thine be done."  The angel also Mary this child to be born would be for the rise and fall of mankind.

Men rise and fall according to what they do with Jesus Christ.  If they believe and confess Him they are saved.  If they are unbelievers they are damned.  It is also said, "This child shall be for a sign that shall be spoken against."  "A sword shall pierce through thine own soul."  How she must have felt what she stood at the cross and watched Jesus die.

We'll never know.  Nevertheless, Mary said unto the angel, "Be it done unto me according to thy word."

There are three things that happened in her life and I hope they will happen in your life.

First, she accepted what the angel was telling her.

Second, she surrendered to every detail.

Third, she was obedient all the way.
