Volvo Employees Honor America's Military Heroes On Memorial Day

As in past years, the employees gathered at the United Auto Workers Local 2069 union hall in Dublin, Virginia, near the Volvo New River Valley Plant, at 8 am on Saturday, May 24, for a memorial ceremony attended by several hundred people.  Afterwards, approximately 200 riders departed NRV for the rally in the nation's capital, accompanied by a specially decorated Volvo VN 670.  The VN 670 features custom murals honoring the sacrifices of military personnel and promoting the wounded Warrior Project, a national effort to raise awareness and support for the needs of men and women wounded in the service of their country (www.woundedwarrior.org).  The truck was developed by NRV in conjunction with UAW Local 2069's Veterans Committee.

CAPTION:

This Volvo VN 670 accompanied several hundred motorcyclists – many of them Volvo employees – as they rode from Volvo's New River Valley Plant in Dublin, Va. to Washington, DC as part of the annual Memorial Day weekend Rolling Thunder® - Ride for Freedom rally.  The event honors America's fallen and missing military heroes.
