Working Show Truck Of The Month: Henri Roy

By Robert Conrad
There are many beautiful sights all across the provinces of Canada, our closest neighbors to the North. From Niagara Falls in Ontario, to the incredible forests and mountain ranges in Alberta, the entire country is almost like looking at a big postcard. Almost as magnificent as Canada's natural wonders, are the customized trucks that make their way into the U.S. each day from Canada delivering all types of loads.
Quebec is definitely one region in Canada that boasts quite a few incredible looking rigs and our September Working Show Truck of the Month is a shining example of "Les Camions Magnifiques du Quebec! This 2002 Peterbilt 379 is owned by Henri Roy who runs Transport Henri Roy based in Stamstead, Quebec, Canada. Henri has logged over 750,000 miles in his polished Peterbilt pulling flatbeds into the U.S. with various types of building materials. The truck's brilliant blue paint is accented with gold & maroon graphics and lettering. The truck looks like it just rolled off of the assembly line but it's seen over 10 years of those harsh Canadian winters and everything in between!
There are many custom features on Henri's Peterbilt including a square bumper trimmed in lights along the bottom, a drop visor, custom angle-cut exhausts, and polished lower cab and sleeper panels that are also trimmed in lights. The truck also features: custom battery box covers, polished fuel tanks with blue end caps & straps, a custom rear light panel and lighted mudflap hangers, and a matching blue headache rack with polished panels that are trimmed with lights as well. With all of these "chicken lights", Henri puts on his own light show at night as the brilliant blue Peterbilt is illuminated on the road.
At only 43 years old, Henri has been trucking for over 24 years. He said that he has hauled numerous loads of granite, decorative paving stones, and logs to many U.S. destinations but his most memorable experience came on a run to Daytona Beach, FL. He had always heard of people driving their vehicles on stretches of Daytona's famous beach, so he decided to give it a try with his truck! Needless to say, the local authorities had Henri head back to the asphalt but he can say that he rode on Daytona Beach-literally!
Henri wanted to thank Berube's Truck Accessories, in Bow, NH, for helping him dress up his Peterbilt. He also thanked Daniel Bilodeau, and Trim Line as well. Henri certainly takes a great deal of pride in his equipment and he and his incredible Peterbilt represent all Canadian truckers with class. Congratulations on being Movin' Out's September Working Show Truck of the Month.
