This “Star” Shines Bright For Mitch Broderson!
You have probably seen Mitch Broderson’s awesome 2007 Western Star 4900EX Lowmax at truck shows across the country. This beautiful truck is hard to miss – it is always shining and Mitch has his 1994 Harley Davidson on display on the back of the truck.
Mitch gave us the lowdown on his Western Star, he purchased the truck brand new in 2006, the paint is from a 1993 Harley Davidson [90th Anniversary FLSTN Moo Glide]. Mitch says that he thought the Burch White really went well with the chrome (we agree!).
Mitch started showing in 2008 for the Western Star brand, not knowing anything about competing in truck shows. His first show was the Shell Rotella SuperRigs™ in Walcott, Iowa. Mitch says, “Nothing like jumping in the deep end for the first time! I called my wife and told her I shouldn't even register, let alone be there, going against customized Peterbilts and KWs slammed to the ground. In unbelievable amazement I made the cover of the 2009 Shell Rotella SuperRigs™ calendar, unreal! Four years later, I'm still adding bits and pieces to my “Shining Star” along with maintaining and the never-ending upkeep of a working show truck, just preparing it for the next show. Pure addiction is how I would explain it; it gets in your blood, and to your head. It is really cool meeting and talking to the crowds and old friends I've met through the years. The Western Star 4900EX [Lowmax] has nearly 700,000 miles and is a true working class 8 vehicle, pulling a tanker from Illinois to Ohio. It is a calming feeling going down the highway knowing that your truck is unlike any other out there, it is a "Western Star Lowmax" need I say more? It is very unique on its own and it is nice to see people recognizing the quality craftsmanship put into a hand built vehicle in today’s world.”
Mitch added a Valley Chrome wrap-around bumper, Roadworks grill, visor, customized panels and a nice set of WTI fenders. If you have ever seen this Western Star at the truck shows at night, you know that Mitch lights it up like a Christmas tree with plenty of Trux accessories!
Mitch wanted to thank his wife Lori and kids Drew and Demi for supporting his never ending adventures of going and showing! Mitch Broderson has truly found his shooting star!
