Line 1 Adventures - Cabela’s or a Casino?
Both casinos and many of the Cabela's often have truck parking, both usually have a place to eat, and both have ways for us to spend our hard earned money.
Cabela's is an old store and was founded in 1961 and went public in 2004 with the home base being in Sidney, NE. There are Cabela's and Bass Pro Shops all over the country with many having designated truck parking spots. Casinos also often have lots with designated truck parking areas. The difference is in atmosphere and sounds. The Casino is filled with loud bells and yelling and the outdoor merchandise store often has the sound of a waterfall or someone trying out a birdcall.
One of my favorite Cabela's is in Fort Worth, TX. This store does not have the most square foot of retail space in the chain but it does have a very large parking area for trucks and campers. There is a great pond and waterfall to the edge of the parking area with nice sidewalks for walking. There are picnic tables where we can sit and enjoy a meal, read a book, or even play a game of cards and enjoy being outside.
Fall is a great time of year to spend some time here outside looking at the water features and then heading inside to check out the merchandise. We always enjoy wandering around the store as a lot of the camping gear can be used in the truck. When given a choice between a casino or an outdoor merchandise store of places to park we head to the great outdoors!
