Representatives of the Owner-Operator Independent Drivers Association, OOIDA, visited the Shell Rotella booth at the Mid-America Trucking Show in Louisville, Kentucky to receive two generous presentation checks.

 OOIDA Executive Vice-President Todd Spencer, along with OOIDA Board Member Bill Rode, were joined by Shell Rotella Marketing Manager David Waterman in the presentation of a $10,000 check from Shell Rotella to the Mary Johnston Scholarship Fund.

The OOIDA Safe Driving Award Program is a program also sponsored by Shell Rotella and is designed to recognize and reward OOIDA members for their safe, accident-free years while operating a commercial vehicle. A few members who participate in the program were on hand to join the check presentation of $5,000 along with Spencer and Waterman.

The OOIDA Mary Johnston Scholarship Program has been assisting the children, grandchildren and legal dependents of OOIDA members in their efforts to gain a higher education since 1998. Annually, OOIDA awards one $2,000/year and four $1,000/year scholarships. The students are selected in a blind evaluation conducted by the Scholarship Advisory Committee.
