Discount Blood Tests For Unisured Truckers
MIAMI, FL… TheManInWhite.ORG announced a major deal with econoLABS.com to provide additional deep discounts on blood tests to uninsured truckers. According to trucking Industry resources, uninsured truckers account for approximately 30% of the 4.2 MM professional truck drivers in the U.S.
Example: a CBC blood test typically costs about $37.00 plus another $22.00 for the blood draw, for a total price of $59.00. EconoLABS charges a flat fee of $28.00 for a savings of $31.00.
EconoLABS is a division of STAT Health Screens, LLC, a Florida-based corporation that has been providing discounted blood tests for uninsured and under-insured consumers since 2005. They contract with the largest national clinical lab, which has over 4,000 patient collection centers throughout the country, making it easy for truckers to get their blood drawn on the road. All participating labs are CLIA certified as well as OSHA & HIPAA compliant.
“Due to health care costs and the number of uninsured consumers, our business model has experienced a healthy growth,” said Pete Okubo, founding investor of econoLABS; he adds, “econoLABS enjoys volume-pricing discounts from the national lab; so, as our volume grows, our prices have dropped as much as 60% from the usual and customary lab fees. Best of all, there are no co-pays, taxes, facility fees or draw fees. Results are rapid & confidential.
EconoLABS keeps their prices down by not accepting private or government insurance, thus eliminating staffing and billing personal. Further, payment and communications are done online, thus eliminating postage, paper and handling.
Over the past 7 years, econoLABS has accumulated a following of over 3,600 truckers, and working with TMIW, we fully expect that number to triple by the first quarter of 2013. As part of this deal with TMIW, econoLABS provided CODE: “TRK2012” that allows for an additional15% discount from the already discounted prices. Truckers simply apply the code to the checkout cart when ordering.
To find a participating lab, truckers visit TMIW or directly through www.econoLABS.com. Both sites have a “find-a-lab” tool, where the driver enters his his/her zip code to find a collection center.
“We are pleased to finalize this deal with econoLABS.com,” said Larry Chilson, founder and president of TMIW. He adds, “This will make labs more affordable to uninsured and under-insured truckers.”
Truckers who want to check their cholesterol, PSA, liver, thyroid or any other lab test simply order on line at www.econoLABS.com. When the transaction is approved, they receive a “requisition form” via an email attachment, which they present to the participating lab. The specimen is collected, and results are emailed to the patient and/or faxed to their physician within 36 hours (for most tests). No doctor's order is required, and no appointment is necessary.
TheManInWhite.ORG is a health care, concierge-type service for thousands of truckers, negotiating discount pricing with health care providers for uninsured truckers at home and on the road. In addition, they also produce audio books on truckers’ health issues.
