ContainerPort Group Expansion in Columbus, Ohio
CLEVELAND, OH…ContainerPort Group is pleased to announce plans to open a “mega” multi•purpose terminal in Columbus, Ohio this spring of 2012.
The new and expanded facility will allow CPG to consolidate its Trucking, Container Yard (CY), Maintenance (chassis, containers), and Cargo Transfer Facility (CTF) services into a single, efficient, and coordinated location for its customers.
While the exact date is not yet available, the anticipated date is late spring of 2012. CPG has secured the land and infrastructure to dramatically transform its existing facility on Creekway Drive into a single “mega” multi•purpose facility to better serve its customers in the Columbus and surrounding market areas.
The new facility will be approximately 70 acres, with more than half of the acres paved allowing for a smoother facility for its customers’ equipment as well as for the general trucking community. This new and expanded facility offers traditional CY inspection service, equipment storage, loaded lift capability, a full•service repair shop and a fleet of mobile on•site repair vehicles and mechanics providing top•notch chassis and container repair and maintenance services.
CPG new and expanded facility is centrally located to serve its international and domestic intermodal customers over both the CSX and Norfolk Southern railroads and is within close proximity of both.
In addition to CPG’s impressive trucking capabilities with its fleet of 70 Columbus drivers serving the international and domestic intermodal community, CPG also operates a unique cargo•transfer facility from this location with direct rail•service capability for a variety of commodities including steel and bulk agricultural products such as soybeans and DDG, to name a few.
