Amstan Spotlight Driver – Steve Doggett

My Name is Steve Doggett. I have a real supportive wife, and 2 grown boys and 1 daughter. I've been a Grandpa for 10 years now, with 6 grandkids; 4 girls and 2 boys. My life revolves around my family. Let's face it, without family, what do you have?
As far as trucking goes, I've been in this business for 35 years. I spent 5 years loading trucks, 12 years repossessing them, and 18 years driving them; driving being the best part.
As far as companies go, Amstan has let me be the driver I want to be! April is my dispatcher. She knows what I want, and how to get me to that goal. Let's face it, to a certain degree you have to let your dispatcher run your truck to get in the direction you need, and to get me back to my family at the end of the week.
The trucking industry has changed a lot over the years, some good and some bad. Keeping up is getting harder and harder. The rules have made it harder to make the money you need, and to get home as much as you need too. That's why working for a company like Amstan, I can survive with the revenue, peace of mind, and be comfortable at the same time.
In closing... I would like to tell my fellow drivers, BE SAFE, BE POLITE, and most of all BE HONEST TO YOURSELF and things will work out for you and your families... GOD BLESS!!!!
My name is April Wamsley. I am Steve Doggett’s dispatcher for Amstan’s FB division. Steve always delivers on time and conducts himself in a professional manner. He is more than helpful to his fellow drivers. Steve and I have worked very well over the years on making the truck turn a profit but at the same time making sure Steve has his home time with his family which is his top priority. Congratulations Steve on getting the “Spotlight Driver”. This is definitely well deserved.
A message from the safety department: Steve has spent most of his time since 2005 with Amstan Logistics and logged over 780,000 miles. He started out as a Flatbed Owner Operator and then a Leased Driver based out of Clarksville. Later when the Flatbed division closed, he transferred to the Van Division based out of Columbus, Ohio. When the opportunity arose to return to a flatbed unit, Steve jumped right in. His diversification and professional dedication along with his eagerness to assist his fellow drivers, dispatchers, or the Safety Department are commendable. Steve is one of those guys that takes time for others and he "passes his generosity forward." We couldn't have chosen a better person to have earned our "Spotlight Driver" this quarter. Congratulations Steve! Keep passing it forward!
Thank you for all your hard work Steve!!!
