ERIE, PA… The Peterbilt dealership at I-90 Exit 29 in Erie, Pennsylvania has been serving truckers for over 30 years. Hunter Truck Sales purchased it in 1999, joining the Hunter family of dealerships. Hunter Erie Truck Sales now offers the same level of excellence in heavy-duty parts, sales and service that has become synonymous with the Hunter name.
Hunter Erie Truck Sales is staffed by trained and experienced technicians and sales professionals. Service Manager Bryan Morton states, “Our 12 service technicians are highly trained experts at servicing the new engine technologies. We offer our customers services ranging from light repairs to engine overhauls and glider kits. We have expanded parts and service hours from 7 am until Midnight, Monday thru Friday and from 8 am-4 pm on Saturdays. Our goal is to accommodate our customer’s needs and execute repairs in a timely and efficient manner. We are proud to offer the Hunter Pledge: We pledge to our customer that within 1 hour we will diagnose their problem, prepare a repair estimate, check the status of parts, order if necessary and begin repairs immediately if possible.”
Hunter Erie Truck Sales is an authorized warranty service center for Peterbilt, Paccar, Cummins, CAT, Eaton, Meritor and Hendrickson. They even offer parts and service support for the new Cummins Westport CNG and LNG engines. However, the dealership will service any make of truck, with excellent parts availability. Hunter Erie Truck Sales also has their own VIS wheel-polishing machine.
Hunter Erie Truck Sales is very proud of their newly remodeled parts department and extensive parts inventory. Parts Manager Dave Hanford comments, “Here at Hunter Erie Truck Sales, we have a parts inventory that exceeds 1.3 million dollars of TRP and Paccar parts. Our line of quality TRP parts not only covers the Peterbilt line, but other truck manufacturer models and trailers as well. We have both OEM and aftermarket parts in stock for Dana, Eaton, Spicer, Meritor, Weller, Paccar, Cummins, CAT, Detroit, Volvo and Mack.” The parts department also carries a large selection of drivers’ favorite diesel additives, oils, lubes, filters and bearings, as well as DEF fluid. Hunter’s parts department offers the same extended hours as the service department and has delivery service available.
When it comes to truck inventory, you just can’t beat the selection at Hunter Erie Truck Sales. From road tractors to ready-to-work water tanks, Hunter’s stocks a full line of Peterbilt tractors, including 389, 367, 386, and the new 579 models in addition to 330 mid-range models. Hunter Erie Truck Sales even has 389 gliders in stock. Sales Manager Don Elliott said, “Our customers can draw on an inventory of hundreds of new and used trucks, from Hunter’s dealer network. Right now we are running an Inventory Reduction Sale with discounts on all 2012 Peterbilt models.”
Homer Hunter founded Hunter Truck Sales in 1938. The company was started from a corner gas station in Eau Claire, Pennsylvania and has grown to 15 full service dealerships in Pennsylvania, New York and New Jersey and they are still growing. Today the company has over 740 employees and is owned and operated by the third generation of the Hunter family. While much has changed in the 74 years since the company was founded, one thing remains the same – Homer’s vision and business philosophy continues to guide Hunter Truck Sales into the future.
“Always give the customer what he wants and what you promise him” – Homer Hunter.
