ContainerPort Lends Helping Hand To East Coast Drivers

By Steve Pollock
NEWARK, NJ… Many drivers were stranded under load or just simply could not get to their pick up or delivery point during this past fall’s Hurricane Sandy. It was a frustrating time for all drivers going to or from the East Coast. The ContainerPort Group recognized the difficult and challenging situation many drivers faced in the Hurricane’s aftermath and decided to lend them a helping hand. The company issued more than two hundred $100 T/A gift cards to their drivers to help with expenses as they tried to keep their pick up and delivery schedules.
ContainerPort’s terminals in Newark, Philadelphia and Buffalo, which deal with mostly East Coast freight distributed the gift cards to hurricane-affected drivers. ContainerPort also issued $25 T/A gift cards to East Coast drivers at Thanksgiving. In all, the company spent over $25,000 to help their drivers be just a little more comfortable during a difficult time.
