The Circuit Rider: Let Your Ways Show The Way To People
The Rev. Dwight L. Moody, a great preacher of the past once said, “There’s no point in arguing the extent of crookedness. All you have to do is to lay a straight stick alongside a crooked stick and the story tells its own truth.”
So many people spend their time fighting the conditions about them, when the truth is – if you don’t like what you see, then display it in your own life. In a word – demonstrate what you believe to be right so that the other person can see it. Jesus Christ believed the same thing and He said, “Let your light so shine before men that they may see your good works and glorify your Father, which is in Heaven.”
Suppose more of us took this to heart and instead of wasting our time finding fault with people and pointing out the wrongs to be found in the world. And just suppose we instead displayed the kind of life we believe God wants us to live. The teaching power of that is tremendous and the effect is unbelievable.
Men follow men who know where they are going. We have a world that is divided in its attention. There are millions of voices calling for our attention and seeking to attract us but the man who has something to say is the man whose life is on a high level and the world can see through him the way God would have others to live.
