The Circuit Rider: Place Your Confidence In The Lord For Peace Of Mind
This is the day when people speak of one another and say, “Have confidence in that person” or if the confidence is not there, they say, “I have no confidence in the individual.” But confidence is built by experience.
The person who is true and genuine and who is the same thing and who would suffer in cost before he would betray is the person you can put confidence in.
There are three directions in which confidence must be placed. We must believe that God is and that He is a rewarder of all who diligently seek Him.
We must confidence in God that He can perform what He has promised.
Many a man questions God. Many a man deals with God as a toy, just to see if it will run and work. This isn’t confidence.
The man who has confidence in God knows God will perform what He has promised.
A second confidence that is needed is confidence in other people. If you have no confidence in your wife or your husband, your family is headed for the rocks.
Thirdly, we must have confidence in ourselves. Self-confidence is something that must be had. Jesus said, “Let your light so shine before men that they may see your good works and glorify your Father which is in heaven.”
Many people are very timid and they back off when it comes to doing things for Christ because they feel they may be moving in their strength. But self-confidence in God’s service is worth a lot.
