Working Show Truck Of The Month: M&W Livestock/Peter Carr

By Robert Conrad
Rhode Island may be the smallest state, but this month it sure comes up big in the Working Show Truck department. We are proud to bring you a flashy, Freightliner Classic owned by M&W Livestock based in Tiverton, RI. Peter Carr drives this handsome 2003 "Freightshaker" for M&W and treats his company ride like it was his own.
He has a regular run hauling clamshells with a 2007 Benson dump trailer. Despite running in and out of muddy terrain when it's wet or facing extremely dusty conditions on those hot summer days, Pete manages to keep the truck looking its best The truck has 338,500 miles on it but it could pass for a new truck any day of the week. The royal blue paint is accented with light blue and gold leaf lettering and pinstripes. The truck's clean, classic lines have been preserved and there's just enough polished "bling" to compliment the rich, blue paint. Up front there's a Texas square bumper that's trimmed with lights along the bottom. Polished fender guards are also trimmed with extra lights that are sure to brighten the road for the chrome "flying pig" sitting proudly on top of the hood. What other hood ornament would a livestock company choose? Other custom features include: oversized exhaust tips, a custom deckplate, a set of polished full fenders over the rears, and a custom rear light bar. Power comes from a 475 CAT engine that's been "tuned up" for better performance.
Pete has been trucking for over 35 years and says that his most memorable experience has been trucking and trucks in general. He enjoys what he does and trucking is definitely running thru his veins! He wanted to send out a big thanks to the folks at M&W Livestock for keeping him running and to his close friends in the trucking industry. When he isn't driving, you'll find Pete at various local truck shows that he enjoys attending. It's not very often that you find an "older" company truck that looks as good as M&W's Freightliner does. Both M&W and driver Peter Carr take a great deal of pride in their equipment and it shows! Keep up the good work and congratulations to you both for being chosen as the Movin' Out Working Show Truck of the Month for August 2012.
