Pittsburgh, PA… PITT OHIO is pleased to announce that one of its drivers, Wayne Walston placed second at the Maryland Truck Driving Championships in the 4-axle class. Walston will compete in the 2012 American Trucking Associations (ATA) National Truck Driving Championships in Minneapolis, Minnesota August 7-11.

Twenty-three PITT OHIO drivers competed at various ATA Truck Driving Championships throughout Indiana, Maryland, Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia and six placed in their respective classes including: Jason Kise (Pennsylvania), David Winebrenner and Wayne Walston (Maryland), Jeff Pentrack (Ohio), and Nick Backes and Paul Norman (West Virginia).

At the Maryland ATA Truck Driving Championships on June 9th, 109 total drivers from various companies competed. PITT OHIO had four drivers participate and two placed with one going to nationals. Wayne Walston, a driver from the company’s Baltimore facility, finished second in the 4-Axle Class and due to a scheduling conflict with the first place winner, Walston will be competing at the national competition for the first time. Additionally, David Winebrenner from Cumberland placed second in the Straight Truck Class.

Wayne Walston was a rookie competitor at the Maryland Truck Driving Championship this year and is very excited to head to nationals. I am sure Wayne will do an exceptional job and will work very hard to try and place for that National Champion Trophy in the 4 Axle Class!”
