The Circuit Rider: Bible Says To Be Content
No person likes to feel like he has missed anything in life. When one feels he is missing something he should inquire, “What am I missing?”
If he finds he is really missing something and can define it, let him seek it until he finds it. If it is only imagination, let him forsake it forever because it is only anxiety.
The devil asked Eve in the garden, “Hath God said Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?” making Eve think she had missed something, hence the world was plunged into sin by her quest in her anxiety.
Are you sure you are missing something? Oftentimes the devil tempts us, he tricks us, and then he traps us and we wind up getting nothing. There is no fire, only smoke.
The Bible teaches to be content with such things as ye have.
As far as knowing everything, Jesus once told his disciples, “It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in His own power.”
What you need is power to be great witnesses and the Holy Spirit will give you that power.
So most of this thing that we really believe we are missing is nothing but an imagination. So we must learn to be content with such things as we have and to go on living a holy life under the leadership of the Holy Spirit.
