Hunter Truck Sales Offers New Products

BUTLER, PA… For 75 years Hunter Truck Sales has provided the latest trucks, services and technologies to their customers and the changes are coming faster than ever. As demand for glider kits increased, Hunter quickly became the #1 provider of kits in North America for Peterbilt Motors for 2013. Hunter Keystone Peterbilt’s Lancaster store was named Peterbilt’s TRP Parts Dealer of the Year. Hunter Truck Sales’ Uniontown store was awarded Peterbilt’s very prestigious Best In Class Award as one of North America’s top five dealers. Hunter’s Eau Claire location and its Uniontown store each won Peterbilt’s Platinum Oval Award for surpassing Peterbilt’s Standards of Excellence. Greg Ketterer, Allentown Service Manager was one of only 6 individuals nationwide selected to serve on Peterbilt’s Dealer Service Council.
The company has many specialized trucks and tractors in stock that have been spec’d for the gas and oil field industries. Hunter also stocks water trailers from Pik Rite, J&J, and Dragon. Trained and certified technicians are on duty at each Hunter location to provide superior service and will soon have certified CNG/LNG repair bays available at strategically located facilities. Hunter offers Peterbilt’s new model 579 and 567 models with the ISX12G CNG/LNG engine.
The Hunter Family of Companies is excited and proud to offer new, innovative trucks from both Peterbilt and International. Hunter has the 75th Anniversary Limited Edition Peterbilt 579 tractors in stock. Both sleepers and daycabs are available and the trucks have two-toned red and white paint, patterned after Peterbilt’s original 1939 Pete. The trucks also have exclusive 75th Anniversary logos and numbered nameplates.
Hunter is also pleased to offer Peterbilt’s APEX Package, which optimizes drivetrain efficiency to deliver enhanced fuel economy. APEX pairs the Fuller Advantage 13 speed automated transmission with the PACCAR MX13 SCR engine. The APEX Package is 80 pounds lighter than previous offerings with optimized shifting patterns that pairs the two fuel-efficient components to deliver up to a 4% fuel economy gain. By pairing the APEX Package with Peterbilt’s new EPIQ Aerodynamic Package available on the 579 models, up to 10% fuel economy savings can be realized. Cummins customers can pair the ISX12 SCR and ISX15 SCR with the Eaton Fuller Advantage™ series automatic transmission to provide the Cummins SmartAdvantage™ power train, which is also optimized to deliver fuel economy improvements from 2-4%.
Also new from Peterbilt and available at Hunter Truck Sales is the Peterbilt 567 with PACCAR MX13 SCR featuring expanded PTO functionality, a truck that is ideally suited for refuse, oil and gas field, and construction applications. The 567 is also available in natural gas models. Hunter has two 579 demonstrator vehicles available, one day cab and one sleeper, with the Eaton automated transmission package available for customer trials.
Hunter’s International line-up includes the 2015 ProStar with Cummins ISX15 SCR, voted ATD’s Truck of the Year, which is now available with on command remote diagnostics. ProStar, LoneStar, PayStar, 5900 set back axle and 9900i are all now available with Cummins ISX15. International is the only OEM to offer the Allison Automatic TC10 fuel economy transmission as an option. Customers can also order the ProStar, PayStar, TranStar and WorkStar with the MAXXFORCE13 SCR. Hunter has two International demos available for customer trials. Both have MAXXFORCE 13SCR and TC10 Allison automatic providing a fuel efficiency package with an enhanced driver experience. With 18 locations in PA, NY, NJ and WV, The Hunter Family of Companies now has over 800 employees. Recently, the company announced several promotions. Kevin Donelli, Branch Manager at Clearfield has been named General Manager of the Butler branch. Kevin has 23 years of experience in the truck and equipment business.
Mike Robinson, Sales Representative at the Eau Clair, PA branch been appointed the new Branch Manager at the Clearfield facility. Mike brings 15 years of management experience to the position.
Bill Thompson, a 35 year Hunter veteran has been appointed branch Manager at Hunter Buffalo Peterbilt.
John Gato was selected for a new position as PacLease Fleet Manager, working out of the Hunter Corporate Office in Butler, PA. John, an Army Veteran, has been Service Manager at Hunter’s Etna, PA Branch since 2010.
After working for 15 plus years as a Service Writer and Service Manager at Hunter’s Eau Claire, PA facility, Hunter has promoted Casey Jordan to the position of Service Process Director.
Rick Calteaux has been selected as the new Parts Manager at Hunter Buffalo Peterbilt. Rick has over 23 years of experience in heavy-duty truck parts sales.
Army Veteran Bernie Christensen has been promoted to Site Manager at Brookfield Truck Repair. Bernie has been with Hunter’s Butler Service Department since 2010 working as a Service Writer and then Shop Foreman.
Tommy Flowers was promoted to Parts Manager at Hunter Jersey Peterbilt in Pennsville, NJ. Tommy has extensive experience in heavy-duty truck parts and has worked at both the parts counter and as assistant parts manager.
