ATA Share the Road Truck Delivers for Wreaths Across America
Arlington, VA… American Trucking Associations’ Share the Road Truck traveled from Harrington, Maine to Arlington National Cemetery carrying a special shipment of handmade wreaths as a part of the Annual Wreaths Across America tour.
“ATA is proud to participate in this wonderful annual event,” said ATA President and CEO Bill Graves. “For nearly a decade our members and drivers have helped deliver wreaths to ensure that during the holidays, we remember and honor those who gave the ultimate sacrifice for our country.”
ATA, along with over 100 motor carriers, delivered more than 500,000 wreaths to over 900 veterans’ cemeteries and locations nationwide.
“Our nation’s fallen servicemen and women gave the ultimate sacrifice for our country, and Mack is honored that our truck transports these wreaths to help signify our gratitude,” said John Walsh, Mack vice president of marketing.
The convoy from Maine arrived at Arlington National Cemetery at on December 14, 2013. ATA staff and other volunteers joined military members, Boy Scouts and various service organizations in unloading and laying wreaths on the graves of America’s heroes.
“It is truly an honor to be part of the Wreaths Across America convoy to Arlington Cemetery,” said Eddie Hosegood, a professional driver with Publix Supermarkets. “The number of professional truck drivers, trucking companies and volunteers who joined together to honor our fallen soldiers is touching. This was a very rewarding way to start the holiday season.”
